Abstract: The Hallmarks of Cancer are one of the most widely recognized organizing principles for the holistic study of cancer today. First introduced in 2000 by authors Douglas Hanahan and Robert Weinberg, the Hallmarks define a set of acquired capabilities that distinguish cancer from normal tissue. This profoundly simple framework follows the life of a cancer cell from its beginnings, to how the body responds, and to its ultimate progression. NanoString has embraced the Hallmarks of Cancer philosophy and shares the vision to bring simplicity to an otherwise extremely complex disease. In 2015 a 2-year project was completed to create three unique gene expression panels for the comprehensive study of cancer. Join us for a journey through the life of a cancer cell as we describe the nCounter® PanCancer Panels Collection and their simple yet powerful impact on research.
